Coach Mark Grimm coached Olympic Lifting at my affiliate for a year. Mark is very knowledgeable when it comes to all areas of Olympic lifting from teaching to programming to competition prep. Mark has a unique way of teaching that is very effective he works on positions first than on how to move the bar. Mark was an asset to me for the time he was here unfortunately his career took him away. 

I started training with Mark in 2016. He immediately was able to notice what was lacking in my mobility, technique and strength levels. With his programming and input after each workout, I progressively got better and better. I have since starting with Mark competed in numerous Weightlifting meets, placing 3rd twice, 1st in another and have qualified for the USAW American Open Series twice. His programming,experience and knowledge in the sport of Weightlifting have been a vital part of my training made me a better and more efficient athlete.

Mark is very knowledgeable and passionate about coaching. I was intimidated by weight lifting but knew that I needed to work on my technic. As a person that does not have an athletic background, Mark has been able to teach me and explain weight lifting to me in a way that makes sense. He has made me feel comfortable and confident when attempting lifts, something I never thought would happen. But most importantly he makes training fun, sometimes painful but fun!!! I am extremely lucky to have him as a coach and I am even more excited for what is to come.

I have been lifting and working out in some form since high school and thought that I knew how to train effectively. However, training with Mark this past year has really opened my eyes. While my form was ok to begin with, I have noticed a drastic improvement with Mark’s more scientific approach to lifting and conditioning. I have gained range of motion in some body parts that had old nagging injuries that I allowed myself to ignore and compensate for while training on my own. I was basically given homework between sessions to work on these areas to gain range of motion and flexibility, which helped greatly. Not only is Mark a top-notch coach, whose knowledge of lifting and work capacity has allowed me to take my conditioning and strength to another level, he is an even better person. He is always quick with a joke and some inspiring words while in the grind of workout. I feel fortunate to be able to train with Mark and look forward to seeing what level I will be on after another year of his coaching.

I started the gym in 2016 and needed ideas how to work out. I started following Anna on Instagram and was obsessed with all her workouts. Little did i know she was a member of my gym. Months after watching her videos and seeing her performance in person, i had the guts to talk to her. She was super friendly and willing to help in anyway possible. I started to catch interest in competing and asked if she could coach me. I knew she new her stuff when it came to exercising and dieting. I competed first time 2017 and again 2018. I managed to become more leaner and posing got a lot better. Being a mom of 2 and working full time was not easy, however Anna’s meals and exercise program were on point and made me look better second time around. Although I’m not planning on competing this year, Anna has me on an off season diet to come back even leaner in 2020. Even though she is in Florida and I’m in NY we maintain a strong relationship. I send workout videos to make sure my form is always on point and pictures with current weight to adjust my diet if need be. Not only is she an amazing coach but also a great friend. There is always tough love in between, but it is to make you better than what you are. You are your only competition.
